Abstract

Young people form their attitudes and perceptions of their role as citizens, participating in various activities at home, at school, in the classroom and in the wider community. Their knowledge, competencies, attitudes and values are influenced by the community to which they belong, the family environment and the circle of friends, but also by their personal characteristics. The paper points out values as a function of social relations and as a product of socio-historical development.
