Abstract

The accession of Bulgaria in the European Union on 1 January 2007 is linked with many costs and benefits for its citizens, companies as well as for the country as a whole. Although the majority of the Bulgarian citizens consider that the benefits from EU accession are more than the costs, there are some group of the society that experience more challenges than opportunities from EU membership. It is important to know all effects from EU accession in order to benefit better from the EU membership.
